Daily Maintenance Checklist for Commercial and Industrial Boilers

The following outlines key daily inspection and maintenance points for commercial steam boilers and industrial boilers. Ensure all operations are performed by trained personnel and strictly adhere to safety protocols.

1. Visual Inspection and Leak Detection

Inspect the boiler equipment and its components (including water pipes) for any signs of leakage. Check pipes for indications of blockage.

2. Operational Status and Noise

Ensure the boiler does not emit any abnormal vibrations or noises. If present, attempt to identify their source and potential causes.

3. Ventilation and Combustion System

Check that the boiler's ventilation system is unobstructed. Common causes of blockage include dust, debris, ice, and snow, which should be cleared promptly. Ensure a stable supply of combustion air.

4. Flame and Sight Glasses

Inspect the boiler's sight glasses. Examine the flame to ensure it appears uniform. Check for signs of damage or any soot that may obstruct visibility.

5. Temperature and Pressure Monitoring

Check the boiler's temperature and pressure, ensuring readings remain within normal ranges. This includes both the boiler's internal temperature and the exhaust gas temperature.

6. Water Treatment and Chemical Systems

Inspect the chemical feed system, water softener, and dealkalizer to ensure all salt and chemical levels are maintained at proper concentrations.

7. Display Panel and Alarm System

Check the display panel for error codes or alarm prompts. Refer to the operating manual and address any codes or alerts promptly.

8. Daily Blowdown

Perform blowdown using the bottom blowdown valve and water column drain valve. This procedure facilitates the removal of water discharged from the boiler.
